Copyright Policy
SellMyCode respects intellectual property rights and expects all users — sellers and buyers — to do the same. This policy outlines our approach to copyright, how to report infringement, and the consequences of violations.
Sellers own their work
Sellers retain full copyright of all products they list. Listing on SellMyCode does not transfer ownership.
Buyers get a license
Purchasing a product grants a usage license — not ownership or copyright. The original author retains all rights.
Infringement is removed
We act promptly on valid copyright complaints and remove infringing content under the DMCA process.
Ownership and copyright
All products listed on SellMyCode are the intellectual property of their respective creators. Sellers who upload products to SellMyCode represent and warrant that:
- They are the original creator of the work, or hold all necessary rights and licenses to sell it
- The product does not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret
- They have the authority to grant buyers the licenses described in our License Terms
By listing a product, sellers grant SellMyCode a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, market, and distribute the product through the platform. This does not transfer copyright — sellers retain full ownership of their work.
Prohibited content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited on SellMyCode:
Infringing products
- Code, themes, or assets copied or derived from another person's work without permission
- Products that include third-party libraries, fonts, or assets under licenses that prohibit resale
- Clones or near-identical copies of products already sold by another author on SellMyCode or elsewhere
Misrepresented content
- Products falsely claiming to be original work
- Listings that use screenshots, demos, or descriptions from a different product
- Work attributed to an author who did not create it
Unauthorized redistribution
- Buyers reselling, redistributing, or sublicensing purchased source code as their own product
- Uploading purchased products from other marketplaces and relisting them on SellMyCode

Submitting a false or misleading DMCA claim may expose you to legal liability. Please only submit a notice if you have a genuine, good-faith belief that your copyright has been infringed.
Counter-notice process
If you are a seller and believe your product was removed as a result of a mistaken or wrongful DMCA takedown, you may submit a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your full name, email address, and physical address
- Identification of the product that was removed and its original URL on SellMyCode
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the product was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the applicable court
- Your physical or electronic signature
Send your counter-notice to: contact@sellmycode.net. If valid, the product may be reinstated after the standard waiting period required by law.
Repeat infringer policy
SellMyCode maintains a strict repeat infringer policy in accordance with the DMCA. Users found to have repeatedly infringed the copyrights of others will have their accounts:
- Suspended from listing or purchasing products
- Permanently terminated at our sole discretion
- Reported to relevant authorities where applicable
Pending earnings may be forfeited in cases of verified copyright infringement.
