A shared revenue pool
Items in the Premium category are downloaded by subscribers rather than bought individually, so Premium earnings are paid from a monthly revenue pool instead of a per-sale price.
The formula
Your estimate = Pool × (Your Premium downloads ÷ All Premium downloads)
Where:
- Pool = total subscription revenue that month × the author percentage set by SellMyCode
- Your Premium downloads = how many times your Premium items were downloaded that month
- All Premium downloads = total Premium downloads across all authors that month
Example
If the month's author pool is $1,000 and your items account for 5% of all Premium downloads, your Premium earnings for that month are about $50.
When it is paid
- Calculated at the end of each calendar month
- Credited to your balance after the standard 30-day clearance period
- Shown separately in your dashboard alongside marketplace earnings
- Included in the regular monthly payout on the 15th once cleared
Premium earnings are estimates and vary month to month with total subscription revenue and download volume.
